ONE OF THE GREATEST LESSONS OF THE CROSS
Words of prophecy:
*____The "spirit of obedience" and the
"spirit of the Cross" [self-denial; obedience unto the death of the soul-life {psuche}] are synonymous.
"perfect
obedience" - receiving a revelation of the Father's Will, and then carrying out that Will in the timing [unction] and power of the Holy Spirit - alone [through
the continual exercising of an absolute faith working through a perfect love];
...."Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone wishes to come
after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his [self] life will lose it; but whoever loses [denies] his [self] life
for My sake will find it ["zoe"- divine life]'"..... Matthew 16:24-25 NASB
...."Whoever does not carry his own cross
and come after Me cannot be [will not be found fit to be] My disciple".... Luke 14:27 NASB
...."For the word of
the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God".... 1 Corinthians 1:18 NASB
...."But whatever things were
gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish
so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, that I may know Him and the power of His
