Afraid of Change

LISTEN  

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

—2 Corinthians 5:17

When God changes a life, it’s so dramatic, so significant, that you usually can’t even tell what the person was once like. That’s what God can do.

And that’s what the Savior did when He met two demon-possessed men after crossing the Sea of Galilee. There was a herd of pigs nearby, and the demons begged Him, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs” (Matthew 8:31 NLT).

So the demons went into the pigs, who then went over the side of a cliff and committed mass suicide. This shows us that the men’s demon possession was real. Otherwise, someone could have claimed they were just putting on a show, that it was all phony.

How did the people in the community react? Matthew tells us, “The herdsmen fled to the nearby town, telling everyone what happened to the demon-possessed men. Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone” (8:33–34 NLT).

The terrifying men who lived in a graveyard were transformed. The community couldn’t believe they were the same people as before. You would think the community would rejoice and want Jesus to stay and perform more miracles. But they were afraid. That’s because Jesus was bad for business. They were making good money off those pigs (which, by the way, were unkosher), and their livelihood had just gone over a cliff. In their minds, Jesus had ruined everything, so they begged Him to go away.

Jesus might have wanted to change their lives, but they didn’t want that change. Instead, they wanted Him to leave.

What would you have done if you had been living in that community at that time? Would you have said, “Lord, come into my life” or “Away with You, Lord!”? When it comes to Jesus, those are really the only two choices we have.

Arrowhead Interception shall break their path! Every spiritual missile shall Hit the mark. Know your enemy! Strike, strike, strike and don’t stop! There is Power in The Blood, there is Power in The Word, there is Power in The Spirit! A threefold cord of Military Command. War Capacity has increased, Watchmen, behold, new battle strategies..blueprints of engagement. 

His Arrangement of Goals. The deception of the enemy shall be ‘cut off.’ The End Times..”Book of War” has been opened! Military tactics shall be made known, high levels of strategy and operation. Jesus is aligning and shifting, positioning for activation. Demonic webs are being shattered, striking confusion and demobilizing the enemy. 

Deploy! Intercept! Seek out the foul birds of the air! This is second heaven infiltration, great exposure, This is Aerial Warfare! Listen for the Strategy of Our God! Everything is being shaken and hidden things exposed. The Army of Light is mandated to displace realms of darkness in every dimension. Our enemy is the prince of the power of the air!

        ...."let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus [the Word of God - Who is seated at the right Hand of the Father], the author and perfecter of faith".... Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB 

        ...."we walk by faith [in the reality of who Love {the Word of God} says we are, in Christ], not by sight [feelings, "sense knowledge" - that which is "perceived" through the five physical senses {soul and body - as opposed to one's spirit}]".... 2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB

"God Is Getting You Ready"

In the Wilderness

As a shepherd, David spent many hours in the harsh wilderness, alone and isolated. Under the hot sun, he made sure that his dad's sheep were well fed and protected from wild beasts. The rest of his time was spent playing his stringed instrument, the lyre, writing and singing songs to God, and practicing with his slingshot.

Yet, here in obscurity, David was being forged, formed, and shaped. He might have been separated from his family, but Yahweh drew near. Like Moses, he discovered that barren ground could also become holy ground (Exodus 3:5).

Sometimes God will do that. He will separate us, set us apart, and pull us away from other people for a season. We might not realize it, but the isolation is actually incubation. He is birthing something inside us, and it can only grow well in certain environments.

In the wilderness we are vulnerable, and that vulnerability causes us to depend completely on Him.

God saw into David's heart. There was a beautiful purity there. A rare devotion. An unusual hunger. Exactly the sort of heart that God desired in the man who would lead His people. There was a king inside this kid.

On that particular day, when David was called in from the field, he had no idea what was about to happen. However, as the old prophet Samuel poured a full horn of oil over his head, he surely sensed that something significant was taking place. The biblical account tells us:

"...Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David..." (1 Samuel 16:13)

This anointing happened with only 10 people present – David, his dad Jesse, his seven brothers, and Samuel. However, the oil was only a visible representation of the anointing that had already taken place during those many hours that David had spent pursuing the presence of God out in the field.

A marriage might officially take place in front of guests on a wedding day, but it begins long before that. So too, in the secret place, David had built up a history with God.

The field that, at times, had represented failure, futility, frustration, and forgottenness was also the field where David found God's favor. He might have been overlooked by others – even by his own family – but he was sought out by God, handpicked by the Most High. 

Spirit Before Substance

The visible anointing by Samuel was simply announcing a reality that had already happened in the Spirit. It was God's public affirmation of a decision already approved in Heaven. We read:

"...from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David... Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul..." (1 Samuel 16:13-14).

Again, I want you to see that the transfer of authority was sanctioned in the spiritual realm long before it became apparent to the people. God was simply announcing what already existed.

Similarly, in your own life, you will often sense certain things in your spirit long before they appear in your reality. God will speak something to you about your future. You will discern what He's setting before you. But when you first receive the revelation, there's usually no visible or tangible evidence that you can point to. You perceive it by faith before you see it with your eyes. That's why the Bible tells us:

"Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality – faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]." (Hebrews 11:1 AMP)

David would spend much of the next 15 years in the wilderness. Even though he had been anointed king, while Saul remained on the throne, God would use the rough places to get David ready.

There was so much inside David, far more than even he realized. And God has deposited so much more inside you than you can comprehend or conceive of right now.

The transition between David being anointed and being appointed would be very slow, but God never hurries when something is this important. You can't cook a gourmet meal in the microwave.

Maybe you're going through a slow transition. God has spoken, but it's hard to see any sign of it coming to pass. In fact, much about your life currently looks the opposite of what God said.

Remember, it can take considerable time for the visible reality to catch up with the spiritual decree. But, if God said it, it's on its way. In the meantime, it's important to remind yourself that often the wilderness season isn't so much about what you are doing. It is about who you are becoming.

Nothing Is Wasted

Soon David would be called in to play the harp for a tormented Saul. At the time, I really don't think David made the connection between this musical job in the palace and his calling to be king. He probably didn't look at Saul, thinking: "I'm going to sit on your throne one day soon." He was simply using one of his gifts.

On the surface, the two things – kingship and music – didn't seem to be related. It's the same with you.

There are stages in our lives when God puts us in places or circumstances that may not seem to make sense for accomplishing our calling. Yet these places are important because they are part of God's plan for developing us and making us ready for the time when we do step into our purpose. 

God's school of preparation began in the wilderness. It then moved to the palace when David was asked to play the harp to soothe the mind of a tormented King Saul. Soon it would move to the battlefield as he fought with the armies of Israel.

Each place was molding and shaping David's character, training and developing his skills, strengthening and deepening his devotion. All the stages of the process were necessary because advancement in God's Kingdom happens in steps. There is no elevator or escalator or fast track. God will take as long as it requires to get you ready.

Currently, we are experiencing a massive shift in leadership, both locally and globally. It's not only happening in the church world, but also in business, the media, the arts, education, technology, and politics. Old structures, denominations, leadership styles, and methods are being dismantled. They are outdated and simply no longer work.

As CEOs and other significant figures step aside, a leadership vacuum is being created. There is a need for a new kind of leadership...for a new breed of leader. God's greatest desire is that these positions would be filled with men and women after His own heart. He longs for the next generation of CEOs, entrepreneurs, church leaders, entertainers, politicians, and educators to be people of deep integrity, who can lead with Kingdom authority, and walk with confident humility.

In these days, I believe God is strategically positioning people like you, prepared in the wilderness and developed in obscurity, to come forth and take their place when the moment is right. Until then, grow in your gift. Develop your skills. Seek His face. Don't try to exit the wilderness prematurely. The field was designed with you in mind. There is favor that can only be found there.

"The Gates of Hell Will Not Prevail!"

Some weeks ago, I had a brief but very disturbing dream. I saw a huge storm, bigger than anything I have ever seen. Next, I heard the word "Rephaim," and immediately saw it superimposed in white letters upon the storm. I felt fear and woke up. Immediately, I saw the Lord and heard, "Do not fear – no matter the storm or what is whispered in your ear.”

We have been in some major storms (in the natural and in the spirit), and there may be more coming, but Jesus already has the victory! According to Strong's Concordance, Rephaim means "giant." We cannot be as the ten spies who were afraid of what they saw in the natural (the giants), speaking doubt and unbelief about what God had promised! Jesus has already overcome all the power of the enemy, even death and Hell. We do not need to fear. We have the final victory, and through Christ we can do all things.

In these latter days, no matter the storm, we must stay strong and keep advancing the Kingdom. Keep looking to Jesus! Jesus said that the gates of Hell will NOT prevail against the Church!

The Rock of Revelation

"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in Heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church; and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:15-18 KJV) 

Peter received revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and Jesus replied that the rock of the revelation of Himself is what the Church would be built upon! As the Church, we are the called-out ones. We have been called out of the kingdom of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of the Son of God by revelation of Him. The more revelation we have of Him, the stronger our foundation! In knowing Him, we will not be moved by what we see in the natural, for He is above all and has all authority and power!

The Defeat of the Rephaim

What's significant about the word "Rephaim" appearing in my dream is that the last representation of the giants of Rephaim – King Og of Bashan, ruler of Mount Hermon – was defeated by Moses and the Israelites (Deuteronomy 3:3, 11; Numbers 21:33) . Many scholars believe that Mount Hermon was the place where the transfiguration of Jesus took place.

It is also significant that Jesus chose Caesarea Philippi, which is located at the base of Mt. Hermon, to declare that the gates of Hell would not prevail. Why? Caesarea Philippi was a central place of pagan worship in both Old and New Testament times. It had many pagan statues and temples, and a cave believed to be the gate to Hell, where the underworld and their gods (demons) presided.

THIS is where Jesus took His disciples and asked them, "Who do you say I am?" THIS is where Peter received revelation and declared that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus chose this location on purpose! At what was perceived to be the "gate of Hell," Jesus declared that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the Church, and gave the keys of the Kingdom to His disciples – the authority to bind and loose!

"I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

Do Not Fear the Giants

Do not fear the giants; Jesus has the keys to death and Hell (Revelation 1:8)! The enemy wants to keep you in fear so you will stop advancing the Kingdom of God! Do not believe the lies of the devil and his demons; they have no authority in your life – except what you give them! Submit to God (let Jesus have governing authority in your life). Resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7)! 

You are an overcomer, "...because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4)! Speak to every mountain in faith and they will move (Matthew 17:20)! God has the final word. Press into Him and speak His words; they will accomplish the purpose for which He sent them (Isaiah 55:11). The angels are waiting to hear His words so they can perform them (Psalm 103:20)!

In Me Alone

As I meditated on all these things, I heard the Lord say, "In Me, alone, you will have peace; in My name there is release from every foe, for they are already defeated. In Me, you must perceive yourself seated (Ephesians 2:6), for the storms are coming, strong and fierce.

"The enemy desires your faith to be pierced and that you fail. Stay strong in Me and you will prevail. It shall come forth as foretold of old. Be strong in My strength, courageous and bold. Speak My words; bind and loose in My name, for I have many victories to obtain. Over Me the enemy has no power; he lies and taunts to see whom he can devour. Stay strong in faith, listen and obey; I am with you and will show you the way."

I Am Putting You On Your Own Recognizance with Me

The Father says today, that I am putting you on your own recognizance with Me. Today you will take responsibility for your own walk in My kingdom and not rely any longer on the training wheels and tutelage of others. There are things you have asked Me for that you cannot walk in unless you are willing to step out and take responsibility for your own spiritual growth. I am extracting you from the eternal childhood of the believer and causing you to stand up into your sonship and your entitlement to growth and full maturity in My kingdom.

You know there is a call upon your life, says the Father. There is a call on your life and it doesn’t involve sitting around watching others do what I’ve called you to do. Stop it, says the Father. Cease from the endless protestations of inability and unpreparedness. Now is the time and this is the day. 

Step up and step out in your calling. I will guide you and yes, you will falter and fail and make mistakes. Then I will make those mistakes to prosper and become testimonies of My faithfulness. The training wheels are off, says the Father, and you are now walking in your calling and destiny for real. Are you ready? This is going to be the most exciting season of your life.

The Unseen Army

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.     NIV

     Do you believe in angels? I want to tell you that I do. I believe there are myriads and myriads of good angels who are given charge over God’s people.

     Another passage says that God will give His angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways. I tell you, I believe we need the guardianship, the protection and the support of angels. I’m glad to know that wherever I go there’s an angel of God that encamps around about me and he delivers me.

     There was a prophet in the Old Testament, the prophet Elisha. At a certain time he was in a city besieged by a large alien army that was there to take him, to capture him. His servant went up on the roof and pointed out to him the tremendous numbers of the opposing army, but Elisha prayed for that young servant and said, “Lord, open this young man’s eyes.” And when He opened his eyes he saw the armies of God around about the prophet, far greater in number and infinitely greater in power than those invading alien armies. And I believe that if God could open our eyes we’d see it’s true today. Those that be with us are more than those that be with them. We have a great unseen army on our side.

     Let’s be encouraged, let’s take heart, let’s reckon with the presence of the Lord’s angels encamping round about us to deliver us.

FIRE BY NIGHT

"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]

        ...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB 

IT TAKES ABSOLUTE TRUTH TO REPLACE ABSOLUTE LIES

Words of prophecy:

*____It takes absolute Truth to replace [obliterate] "absolute" lies [deception]!

        ...."If you continue in My word, [then] you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know [gain a revelation of] the truth, and the truth [that abiding revelation] will make [and keep] you free".... John 8:31-32 NASB

        Only the Father [and His Word and the power of His Spirit] can get to those roots in one's heart which, up until this time, have kept them in a place of bondage to the "things below". This is another reason why the "inner chamber" is so important. As one truly lays, by faith, the roots [memories, trauma etc.] before Him He will do the necessary work in them. SURELY it will take some faith and trust [and sometimes the exercising of patience in that steadfast faith and trust] but, ultimately, EVERY last ground within that one will SURELY be dealt with - leading to the place of "abiding" [dwelling on every level] in the perfect liberty that is ALREADY theirs, in Christ.

        ...."Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit".... 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NASB

____...."Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard [it,] and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name. 'They will be Mine,' says the LORD of hosts, 'on the day that I prepare [My] own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.' So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. 

For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,' says the LORD of hosts, 'so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.' But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing, says the LORD of hosts".... Malachi 3:16-4:3 NASB

Prayer of Proclamation:

____Father, we thank You and praise You that as we are faithful to enter into Your holy  Presence, on a daily basis, we can know in our heart that You are healing and restoring us in a manner that will empower us to rise up and walk in the fullness of all that we are in Christ. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis] in Jesus' Name - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.

Isaiah 45:8, 2 Tim 2:10 … Thank You Lord that salvation will spring up within my heart, that I may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 19:10 … Thank You Lord that I may grow to find Your Word more precious than much pure gold and sweeter than honey from the comb. In the name of Jesus Christ.

 

Psalm 42:1-2 … Thank You Lord that You will create within me a hunger, a longing, for You and Your will. Set my heart flames a fire in love with you. Reveal yourself to me. Make me to love you as you love me. In the name of Jesus Christ. Yeshua

 

 Read the Word of God!

The Word helps in casting down vain imaginations that exhalt itself above the knowledge of the Lord.
