The Work of Suffering

By Greg Laurie

“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.”

—Romans 8:17

A while ago I read an unusual story about a man who survived a shark attack. The man actually said he was thankful that it happened.

It turns out that when he went to the hospital for treatment, his doctor discovered that he had cancer. They were able to successfully remove a tumor before it metastasized. If the shark hadn’t bitten him, he wouldn’t have known that he had cancer.

Who would ever think that a shark attack could end up being a good thing?

In the same way, spiritual attacks and trials will come into our lives, but they are opportunities to turn to the Lord and trust Him. We never know how God will take a hardship and use it for our good.

The Bible says, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow” (James 1:2–3 NLT).

From the original Greek, we could also translate the phrase “troubles of any kind” to read “many-colored trials.” You might be going through a hardship that’s different from what someone else is going through.

But even when things look bleak, God ultimately will work all things together for His glory and your good. God is in control of all circumstances that surround the believer. Remember, before Satan could bring hardships into Job’s life, he first had to get permission from God.

The same is true of you. God knows what you can handle. He’s always keeping an eye on you, and His ultimate purpose is to conform you into the image of Jesus Christ (see Romans 8:29). The big picture, then, God’s endgame for you, is to make you more like Jesus.

No matter what you’re going through, know this: God is at work in your life.

...."This book of the law [the Word of God] shall not depart from [always be in] your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful [take heed] to do according to all that is written in it; for THEN you will make your way prosperous, and THEN you will have success".... Joshua 1:8 NASB

Decide within yourself that the morning watch [inner chamber] is not only a duty, but an unspeakable privilege and pleasure.

To the new spiritual nature, fellowship with God, abiding in Christ, loving the Word and meditating on it all the day are life and strength, health and gladness. Look upon them in this light, believe in the power of the new nature within and act upon it.

Though you do not feel it, it will become real. As you count it a joy, it will become a joy to you. ...."Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; In holy array, from the womb of the dawn [the "inner chamber"]".... Psalms 110:3 NAS

The Holy Spirit Work Of Transformation In Us

By  Pieter Kirstein

The Holy Spirit told me this about His work of transformation in us;

As we bore the image of the earthy fallen man, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man (Jesus).

The beautiful thing about the gospel is that this heavenly Man came to conquer the earthy man through a demonstration of divine love and this is exactly the work of God unto sanctification in our lives.

He lovingly and affectionately works out that which Christ has already accomplished on our behalf. His victory becomes a reality more and more as we follow Him out of darkness into the freedom of His glorious light.

All darkness in us becomes visible the closer we move to God, then when exposed, it is expelled through a demonstration of His conquering love. His delivering power progressively rescues His children from the grip and the influence of darkness in every area of their lives as they lovingly and willingly submit and yield to the divine influence.

It is never a matter of cruelty as the enemy would want us to believe but in fact a beautiful demonstration and a rescue from the powers which threatens to destroy us and keep us in bondage.

The destiny and purpose that God has for you requires for you to be mature and completely whole and healed of all cracks in your foundation otherwise you will not be able to handle and cope with the weight of glory which you are called to walk in".

Therefore we need to embrace the pressure of our trials because it strengthens and restores our foundations. We are not ready to come out of the furnace until we can dance with Him in the fire, which denotes total freedom, wholeness and surrender. That place where He completely conquered us by His love as a people moving in synch with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

means; God and I dance

“The key to transformation is yielding in trust to the LORD’s hand and touch - instead of fighting to do the work in your own human strength and effort. You cannot transform yourself into the image of the Lord. It is impossible! But what is impossible for you, is possible with Me. While you yield, keep your heart focused and connected to the Father’s heart.

You must sever all ties to false perceptions of Us - religious, fear-based nonsense that erects a false god in your heart and separates you from what is true and holy. What you are to persevere in is a God-conscious dependence, surrender, and trust. This is the path to glorious transformation that I Myself will work in you.”

Recently I had a dream where one breakthrough and miracle was happening for people I knew one after another. From healing and deliverance from cancer, to the healing of spiritual blindness, to what looked like spiritual heart transplants (hearts of stone becoming a hearts of flesh), and it went on and on. The dream was moving at such a pace I couldn’t keep up to remember all the supernatural breakthroughs and miracles that were happening. It literally felt like Amos 9:13 message translation.

““Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!

Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” God, your God, says so.”

I also love the amplified classic translation that depicts everything “barren and unfruitful” overflowing with blessing.

In my dream it literally was one thing after another at such a fast pace.

Then the dream shifted and I was standing in front of Neil Diamond. I prophesied over him that he had a long unfulfilled desire of his heart that God was going to bring to pass and fulfill in this season.

I felt the interpretation to this prophesy was found in the meaning of Neil Diamonds name.

Neil means “champion”, “victory” and Diamonds are forged under intense heat and pressure.

Therefore God is saying in this dream that those “champions” of God that have been forged in the fire are about to step into long awaited promises and desires fulfilled.

In the natural Neil Diamond is 81 years old. Caleb was 85 when He asked Joshua to “give him” Hebron.

Obviously it doesn’t mean you have to be over 80 to be a champion but this to me really pointed to the Caleb’s - meaning those who have stood faithful, through the fire, through the wilderness, through the battles, those who God has made to be champions who can take down giants and establish an inheritance in the earth.

It’s Caleb’s time! The champions of God are inheriting their portion.

Isaiah 22:22 (AMPC) "And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open.”

I heard the Lord say "There are doors that are opening today for many and these will be doors for harvest time placements. Many have waited for these doors to open but the Lord is saying to you "It is timing my child."

Watch what I will do through you now as you step over the threshold and move out by faith some to save a nation and others to walk in the ministry that I have prepared for you and readied you for since you were born!”

The Lord also is saying that "Many doors will be closed because I know what is best for you. Do not grieve these losses because as they close many will be left behind that hindered the moving of My Spirit in you and through you but now is your time to step into the harvest field and never look back! I see you now says the Lord Face forward with a new determination to fulfill your destiny!

Don't look back but move forward to your reward! Did I not say that I will give you the heathen for your inheritance? So shall I be with you to deliver you from the hand of the enemy! And close the door on all of the past!"

"In the Midst of Gross Darkness, God's Glory Is Rising!"

By Alane Haynes

In recent weeks, I have been sensing that many are overwhelmed by what is happening in the world. Holy Spirit has been speaking strongly to me that we need to stay focused on the Lord and continue to do what He has called us to do. He has been reminding me of visions and dreams I've had in the past that brought clear focus; one vision is particularly relevant.

In my vision, I was on a journey in a large company of people. I could see many ahead of me, and there were many more behind – men, women and children. We were moving toward a distant vista that was glowing in amber light, as if through a lens of clear honey. The golden light illuminated everything, from the vegetation near the path we were on to the varied shades of green in the hills beyond.

The colors were vibrant and intense – much more so than any I have ever seen in the natural. Everything had this golden light cast upon it, and the light toward which we were walking was magnetic in its beauty, rich and radiant. We were elevated as we walked along a ridge line. To our left was a deep valley; on our right, a steep ravine with towering cliffs on the other side. We were focused and intent, not hurriedly rushing, but walking with purpose toward our destination.

I heard a sound, a rumbling vibration. The sound began to build in intensity, and I became aware that it was the thundering of a multitude of horses running. I looked to the left, into the valley; as far as my eyes could see, there were armies upon armies advancing toward us, with dark horses carrying riders in dark hooded robes that covered their faces. The riders carried long spears with razor-sharp tips. The horses were creating great clouds of dust over the valley.

Looking ahead, I saw that there was no darkness where we were headed; in fact, the light seemed to intensify. I began to feel fear when I looked at the armies advancing toward us. Some of the others in our company were starting to run and scream; as they ran, they fell. Others tripped over them, also falling to the ground, causing more wounding and delays.

Stay in the Light

I heard, "Do not fear. Stay in the light. If you stay in the light and continue moving with Me, I will take you to your destination. In My light, the enemy cannot touch you. Darkness cannot enter the light. Light dispels darkness. Stay in the light.”

The armies drew closer and began to race up the mountain toward us. When they began to draw near, it was as if a magnetic force repelled them, and they fell backward, plunging to the ground and destroying each other in frustration.

I was immediately reminded of John 12:35 (KJV), where Jesus said, "...Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth."

We have to keep our focus on what God is doing and what He has called us to do in the midst of the darkness we see – not on what the world system is doing.

Jesus told us the agenda of the enemy – to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). We are hearing world leaders speak of recession, food shortages, global pandemics, etc., but we are to hear, believe and be led by the Word and the Spirit of the LIVING God. The god of this world desires to instill fear and doubt, compelling us to turn to his world for answers. These distractions are designed to detour, derail and displace us from God's Kingdom!

"Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the Cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Heb. 12:2 AMPC)

Focus on Him: God's Glory Is Rising and His Kingdom Is Advancing!

The Kingdom of God is at hand. Jesus said it over 2,000 years ago, and it is still at hand – right here, right now, in our midst. Look to Him! In the midst of gross darkness, His glory is rising and His Kingdom is advancing. Keep your eyes on the King and His Kingdom, casting down everything that opposes truth! Unbelief will take you out; it's time to cast down all fear and doubt.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Cor. 10:3-6 NKJV)

We are in the world but not of it (John 17:16). We are citizens of a spiritual Kingdom being made manifest here in the earth as we make Jesus known and do the works He did, and continues to do through us. In the midst of worldly chaos and confusion, we are in a set time of favor to advance the Kingdom of God!

"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof." (Ps. 102:13-14 KJV)

For those of us who love the King and His Kingdom, favor is ours; Kingdom resources and blessings are not contingent on the world system. As we stay in faith and obedience, we will see God's hand of favor bringing all that we need, as we seek first and foremost His Kingdom.

"But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matt. 6:33 KJV)

"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19 KJV)

I have seen, over and over, that when I am focused on the Lord and His Kingdom purposes for my life – walking in faith and obedience – His favor and provision are open to me. In the midst of the darkness of the world and circumstances that bring distractions and problems, we are seeing God move mightily in our ministry through answered prayers, healing and supernatural encounters. These "problems" are opportunities for God to show up!

The Living One Who Sees Me

I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, "Don't be misled by the circumstances in which you find yourself, for even during trials and tribulation I will bring forth all you need. Don't be as Hagar, with your vision blocked by unbelief – not seeing My provision in front of you! Even now as you hear this word, eyes are being opened. Angelic help has come to reveal what was heretofore hidden."

Hagar is significant. Hagar's vision was was blocked, but then she had an encounter with the Lord. She saw Him as Beer-lahai-roi, which means the "well of the Living One who sees me" (Gen. 16:14). She also received a promise that from her son, Ishmael, multitudes would come forth. Fifteen years later, she and Ishmael were in the wilderness and near death. Ishmael cried out; God heard and opened Hagar's eyes to see the well of water that was already there. She had not seen it because of her despair.

When we are in a difficult situation, we often focus on the problem and forget God's promises. Negativity causes us go into unbelief and lose sight of His faithfulness, His goodness, His Kingdom provision for every need and His way of escape from every temptation.

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor. 10:13 KJV)

In the vision I shared, the way of escape was staying in the light; focusing on the glory of God and His Kingdom; seeing Jesus with us and leading the way. Stay in faith! We must keep our eyes on the Lord and what He is doing. Paul exhorts us to look not at what is seen but the eternal reality, and that what we endure for the Kingdom is being worked for eternal glory.

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Cor. 4:17-18 NKJV)

He Is Opening New Doors

I heard this word of the Lord, and now I declare it to you: "My Spirit and My angelic help are moving quickly to open your eyes to the provision at hand. For I am establishing connections for fulfillment of My determined purposes. Get ready for new connections and new paths. Listen and follow closely, for I will open doors before you, even those that were previously closed. Watch, see and enter doors of influence, for you are coming into the fullness of time, and acceleration is upon you.”

"My Kingdom is in your midst; keep your eyes on Me. I am outside of time. I bring resources into time for My Kingdom to be established and your needs to be met as you go about My business. In the world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Look to Me and overcome negative mindsets and worldly narratives – the spirit of lack, doubt and unbelief.

"In Me, move and live and have your being, with your eyes focused on Me – ears alert to My voice. I will lead you in the way everlasting and bring forth, through you, the works that I ordained for you to walk in before the world began."

Your Portion Is To Know Repeated & Frequent Breakthrough Experience

By Russ Walden

The Father says today, your portion is to know repeated and frequent breakthrough experiences, punctuated by My sovereign process of raising you up to sonship and kingdom privilege. There is a difference, says the Father, between EXPERIENCE and PROCESS. Experience changes your life. Process changes you. My agenda and the agenda of My kingdom is to do both. I Am changing your life.

I Am causing your life to be a little bit of heaven to go to heaven in. I Am also changing you. As you cooperate and align with My character, My leading, and My words revealed in your heart, I will transform you into one who reflects My nature and walks in a level of authority and power that you have only fantasized about.

So come unto Me, says the Father, and experience YOKE EASY and BURDEN LIGHT. I declare to you today that THIS IS WHERE IT GETS EASY! The yoke is taken off your life in the sudden experiences of shift and transition that become the bright spots in your personal history.

The burden light is the joyful training process by which you take My hand and allow Me to lead you off your map and into the coordinates of My great promise for your life. Do you trust Me, says the Father? Then here we go …

"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]

...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB

Words of prophecy:

*____My children are not obligated to "cater to the flesh" of another [through soulish pressure {intimidation}- which, in essence, is the Enemy attempting to get them and/or keep them under the "fear of man". Therefore, unrighteously motivated [soulish] questions deserve brief answers - or no answer at all.

...."do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you".... Matthew 10:19-20 NASB

...."The high priest stood up and said to Him, 'Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?' But Jesus kept silent".... Matthew 26:62-63a

...."Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith".... 1 Peter 5:8-9 NASB

____ Speaking or withholding the revelation in our heart in obedience to the leading and unction of the Holy Spirit is done in faith [Love] and obedience while the speaking of words that have their source in the "fear of man" [and all that that entails - compromise, seeking approval or the praises of men etc.] are always, in essence, self-serving [rooted in fear and pride].

____When one "asks" a question or questions of us that are clearly self-serving it is of the utmost importance to lean towards silence or, at the very least, be very brief. The reason for this is that, for his part, the Enemy is attempting to influence us off course in some way by working through one who has some form of self-agenda [which they are not conscious of - although if it is a Christian they should be conscious of the motivation of their heart].

...."For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ".... Galatians 1:10 NASB

Prayer of Proclamation:

____Father, we thank You and praise You that IN Christ we have been set free from the fear of man - and, thus, we are able to resist the lying and fear-filled tactics of the Enemy on every front. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis] in Jesus' Name - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
