MEDITATIONS ON THE TRUE CHRISTIAN LIFE

By Glenn H. Jackson

______...."This book of the law [the Word of God] shall not depart from [always be in] your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful [take heed] to do according to all that is written in it; for THEN you will make your way prosperous, and THEN you will have success".... Joshua 1:8 NASB

*____The ultimate measure of a man/woman is not where he/she stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he/she stands at times of challenge and controversy.

...."we walk by faith[in the reality of who Love {the Word of God} says we are, in Christ], not by sight [feelings, "sense knowledge" - that which is "perceived" through the five physical senses {soul and body - as opposed to one's spirit}]".... 2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB

THEREFORE

...."we consider and look not to the things that are seen[the lower reality - that which is real to the five physical senses] but to the things that are unseen [through faith in the higher Reality of God's Word]; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting) [subject to change], but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting [Eternal]".... 2 Corinthians 4:18 The Amplified Translation

In Spite of Sickness

By Greg Laurie

LISTEN

“God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

—Revelation 21:4

God can work in spite of sickness. He still answers prayer and heals people today, and He still does miracles. In sickness and in hardships, He can work in a person’s life. Even if a person still has the sickness or problem, God can work in spite of it and give them a special strength.

And no matter what happens to our physical bodies here on earth, we have the promise of heaven and ultimate healing in heaven. At that time, God says He will wipe away all our tears. There will be no more death, sorrows, crying, or pain (see Revelation 21:4).

What a glorious promise! There is more — so much more! — beyond this life on earth. Whatever our limitations, whatever our problems, God promises us that we will one day receive a new body that won’t have the shortcomings we experience today.

And God can also use sickness to bring a person to Himself, can’t He? I know of many people who have come to the Lord in the hospital or when facing death. Suddenly they reevaluate their lives. They wonder, What am I living for? What’s really important in my life? What’s going to happen to me when I die? And they begin to think about eternity.

As the psalmist said, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word” (Psalm 119:67). God can work in spite of sickness, and He can work through sickness. Nothing is impossible for Him.

"It's Time for My Heroes to LEVEL UP!"

By Christa Elisha

I hear the Lord say, "It's time for My heroes to level up!”

Have you felt like the enemy has been playing games with you? Like you have stepped out in faith to answer the call of God on your life, but it seems like you keep getting hit with the same warfare that blocks you from your next place? If so, I have some great news, friend! The Lord is saying, "Enough is enough! It's time for My heroes of faith to LEVEL UP!”

"Leveling up" is the process by which characters in a video game reach a new level, gain greater attributes and learn more abilities. It usually involves earning enough experience points by completing a variety of tasks such as quests, solving puzzles or fighting against other characters. Each new level usually ends with a "boss battle." The boss is typically a 'strong man' or major opponent that the hero must defeat before advancing to the next level, toward the completion of his mission.

Each level is designed with specific tasks aimed at building the hero's character, strengthening him and giving him the experience needed to defeat all future enemies and, ultimately, accomplish his mission to save the day. Interestingly, almost all games are designed with the intent to set up the main character to WIN the game.

If you are in the midst of a spiritual battle right now, I want to encourage you: God has not only designed you but preordained you for VICTORY. Every giant you face, God has also prepared and empowered you to defeat. Although He is fun and full of joy, God does not play games with our lives. He is invested in our success, and He gave us His Holy Spirit to supernaturally strengthen us to overcome every enemy that tries to block us from our destiny.

Some Questions to Ask in Our Process of Preparation

I have discovered that on the way to our prophetic promises, there is always a process of preparation. We can actually speed up the process, depending on how we steward our hearts during the warfare. In order for us to be people who can be trusted with the promise, we must allow God to make us more like Jesus. We must have character that can uphold the weight of the glory that He wants to put on us, lest we fall into pride and harm His Bride.

Whatever you are going through right now, here are some questions you can ask God to help you navigate your current level:

• "What do You want me to learn through this that will benefit my future?"

• "How can I partner with Your process in my life?"

•"Is there anything in me that I either cannot take with me or is actually hindering me from my next level?"

. "Where can I grow in humility and self-sacrificing love to be more like You, Jesus?”

I want to share with you some things I have learned in my own process of 'leveling up' in the spirit toward the high call of Christ.

Pay Attention to the Patterns

Does it seem like the same negative situations repeat themselves in your life and relationships? If so, ask the Lord for wisdom to see the spiritual ROOT that is causing this cycle to reproduce in your life. It may come as a surprise, but more often than not, the root of the cycle is not found in those around us but is actually within us! For example, let's say you are prone to the sin of unforgiveness. Until you deal with the root of bitterness that is associated with unforgiveness, the enemy will continue to influence people around you to keep you in a cycle of victimization.

We know the importance of forgiveness as Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Without intimacy with God in prayer, we are powerless. So no wonder the enemy wants to hinder you with this strong man of unforgiveness!

Repent

Once you discover the root, repent; change the way you think about the situation and the people involved to match what God thinks! This is crucial! When we see ourselves, others and the situation through His eyes, everything becomes clear. We can see our own need for His grace, and we can release mercy to those who have hurt us. As we receive His thoughts, we can change our own behavior and use our God-given authority to wield our spiritual weapons – which are the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God – to defeat our demonic enemies. And we can use His love in action to win over our flesh and blood 'enemies,' so that they can see Jesus through us.

Renounce

After you repent, you must verbally renounce your agreement with the strong man. Everything in the spirit realm is based off of a verbal agreement. When we use our words to affirm what the enemy wants, we have made a legal contract with the accuser of the brethren. Satan is a legalist. If you have used your voice in agreement with him, you must use your voice to invoke the Blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word over you, to break that ungodly verbal contract. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you uncover whatever lies you have come into agreement with, or curse you have spoken over yourself, your situation or those around you. Once He reveals these things, then you can say a simple prayer like this:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your Blood that has delivered me from all legal rights the enemy once had over my life. I plead the Blood of Jesus and all its benefits over myself and this situation.

In the name of Jesus, I come out of agreement with every lie the enemy has spoken to me regarding myself, this person/people and this battle I am in. I renounce the spirit of unforgiveness and every familiar spirit that is hindering me from my next level, and I break their influence off of my mind, will, emotions and physical body now, in Jesus' name. I command these spirits to go to the pit to await their final day of judgment, in the name of Jesus.

I decree that I forgive those who have hurt me. They owe me nothing. I bless them and now release them into Your care, Father. Give me clean hands and a pure heart. Fill me with Your Spirit and reveal to me again how much You love me, so that I may walk in Your ways and not cause harm to myself or those around me who I have been called to represent You to. In Jesus' name, amen.

Renew

Every strong man that tries to boss us around, intimidate us and keep us in bondage to the enemy is empowered by a stronghold in our thoughts. A stronghold is an ungodly belief system built on a lie. If the nature of deception is that we do not know when we are being deceived, then it is absolutely necessary for us to be renewing our minds with Scripture.

It is my conviction, especially for those of us in the prophetic, that we MUST constantly be reading and meditating on Scripture, or else we can be led astray into all sorts of error. In fact, we should all be listening or reading Scripture more often than listening to others share about spiritual encounters. The Bible must be our foundation! If not, then our faith is built on nothing but shifting sand; we will be prone to every wind of doctrine and will not come into full maturity according to Ephesians 4:14.

When we read or listen to the Word of God, it renews our minds. The Bible tells us, in Proverbs 23:7, that as a person thinks in his heart, so he is. So, what you think about is what you become! I love this quote from Smith Wigglesworth: "Some people read their Bibles in Hebrew, some in Greek; I like to read mine in the Holy Ghost." When you read or listen to the Bible, always ask the Holy Spirit to come and give you the Spirit of revelation to reveal mysteries to you in Scripture. That is when the Word becomes alive and discovering Scripture an adventure!

Worship Is Your Warfare

In times of intense spiritual warfare, worship is your best weapon. As we engage in worship, we turn our eyes away from the problem and onto the Problem Solver. The Bible tells us that God Himself is enthroned on the praises of His people (see Psalm 22:3). This means that when we worship the Lord and praise His name, it gives us access to the very throne room of God, right in the midst of our situation. This is where we can boldly run in and seek help from our Father in our time of need. This is when HE fights for us, and when we are free to partner with Him by releasing POWERFUL third Heaven decrees, like bombs on our spiritual enemies.

Know this, saints: Even when we experience warfare, God has decreed that we are above and not beneath; the head and not the tail! As we grow in Christ-like character, we will experience more and more freedom and authority over the enemy. With each battle, we receive the experience, skill and Christ-like character required to LEVEL UP and accomplish our mission to see God's Kingdom come and will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

He is the Lord, strong and mighty in battle – matchless in glory! He has never lost a battle, and He has destined you to win the one that you are in now!

I prophesy over you right now that you shall receive the victor's crown! I decree that every hindering spirit, strong man, stronghold and spirit of delay is being broken off of your life now, in the name of Jesus! I decree that whatever was sent to set you back, God is going to use it as a stepping stone to take you to your next level, in Jesus' name!
